FAQs

  • The cost of an architectural model can vary depending on a number of factors, including the complexity of the design, the materials used, and the size of the model. Some common pricing factors include:

    • Scale and size of the model: The larger the model, the more materials and labor will be required.

    • Complexity of the design: A more complex design will take more time and skill to create.

    • Materials used: Different materials have different costs and some materials may require more production time.

    • Quantity: if you are producing multiple models of the same design, the cost per model may be less than if we are producing various designs.

    • Level of detail: If the client is requesting a high level of detail, that will take more time and resources to produce.

Please feel free to reach out with any further questions or to schedule a consultation. We will ask you specific questions and discuss your project in detail to provide you with a personalized proposal and an accurate price. We are always open to explore creative options to respect your budget as much as possible.

  • The time required to create an architectural model can vary depending on several factors, including the complexity, size, level of detail, materials used, and the specific requirements of the project. Simple models with minimal detail may take a few days or weeks to complete, while more intricate and detailed models can take several weeks or even months.

Additionally, the availability of resources and the workload can also influence the timeline. You are welcome to contact our studio in advance and provide us with the necessary information about your project to get an accurate estimate of the timeframe required to create the model.

  • An architectural model can be a helpful tool for a real estate developer to promote their project in several ways:

Visualization: An architectural model can help potential buyers or tenants visualize the finished project and understand how it will look and feel. This can be especially helpful for complex or large projects where it may be difficult to fully understand the design from drawings or renderings alone.

Marketing: Models can be invaluable for marketing and sales purposes. They provide an impressive and engaging representation of your project, making it easier to attract potential buyers, investors, or tenants. Models showcase the unique features, functionality, and aesthetics of your development, enhancing its marketability and increasing the likelihood of successful sales or leases.

Decision making: An architectural model can help potential buyers or tenants make informed decisions about their purchase or lease. It can also be used to help developers highlight features and amenities that are most important to their target market.

Investor Confidence: Presenting a professional architectural model to potential investors demonstrates your commitment to quality and attention to detail. It instills confidence in your project's viability, aesthetics, and functionality, which can contribute to securing funding and attracting key investors.

  • Incorporating miniature models into your design process can provide several benefits for your projects, clients, and firm. Here are some ways in which they can be advantageous:

Visual Communication: Models allow you to effectively communicate your concepts and vision to clients and team members who may have varying levels of architectural knowledge. Models make it easier for everyone to understand and visualize the spatial relationships, proportions, and overall aesthetics of the project.

Design Exploration and Iteration: Scale models serve as a valuable tool for design exploration and iteration. They allow you to test and refine your design ideas in three dimensions, enabling you to better understand how different elements come together and interact within the space. Models facilitate the identification of design strengths, weaknesses, and potential improvements, allowing you to make informed decisions and enhance the overall design quality.

Client Engagement and Feedback: Architectural models have a powerful impact on clients. By providing a physical representation of the project, clients are able visualize and experience the design in a more immersive and realistic manner. Models encourage client engagement, promote meaningful discussions, and facilitate feedback, enabling you to align your design with the client's vision, preferences, and expectations.

Marketing and Business Development: Architectural models can be powerful marketing tools for your firm. They showcase your design expertise, creativity, and attention to detail, helping to attract potential clients and differentiate your firm from competitors. Models add a tactile and immersive dimension to presentations, helping you stand out and leave a lasting impact on your audience.

Team Collaboration: Architectural models promote collaboration within your design team. They provide a physical reference point for discussions, allowing team members to share ideas, identify design challenges, and collectively work towards solutions. Models facilitate interdisciplinary coordination, ensuring that all aspects of the project, such as architecture, structure, and interior design, are considered and integrated effectively.

Time Efficiency: While many firms have the ability to make their models in-house, professional model makers can save architects valuable time by taking over the model-making process. Architects can focus on other aspects of their projects while the model maker handles the intricate, laborious work. This allows architects to focus on other aspects of their work, such as design development, client interactions, and project management.

  • To create your scale model as accurately as possible, we ideally need the following information. Please note, we may ask for additional information depending on your project requirements.

    CAD files of:

    - The floor plans of each building

    - The elevations of each building

    - Master plan of the site

    - The landscape plan and drawings, including tree locations, parking lots, streets, sidewalks, stairs, surroundings, etc.

    - The topography plan (if applicable)

    - 3D files in SketchUp, 3D AutoCAD or Rhino

    Renderings:

    - Updated renderings to help visualize the overall development, reference the materials, and landscape elements

    Material and texture references:

    - Building material samples, paint brand/name, or Pantone/RAL colour code

    - Pictures or references to identify all bricks, metal panels, claddings, window tints, mullions, columns, railings, concrete, and patterns

Ideally, we would like to receive physical samples of the materials since colours represented on computer screens can vary, however if samples can be sent to us, pictures are perfectly fine. We create test samples of each textures and send them to you by mail for approval before building the model.

    Presentation table:

    - Pictures and details regarding the table on which the model will be displayed (if available)

    - We will need to know the exact measurements before we can build the base to ensure it fits perfectly

If you are unable to provide any of these documents, we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
